A place for things that make my heart beat faster

The Archeological Museum in Haarlem, The Netherlands, hosts an exhibition dedicated to the memory of Olaf Goubitz. He was a Dutch archeologist who specialized in medieval leatherwork, such as shoes and purses.

This bird shoe was found in Haarlem, and is dated ca 1300-1350. I love the bird and flower design, and the lace-like pattern of holes. According to the information card, this type of design was rare in the Netherlands, and it is not known whether this was a shoe for men or women. Anyway, it must have looked fabulous with bright contrasting stockings in red or yellow.. :-)

here are those who discover they can leave behind destructive reactions and become patient as the earth, unmoved by fires of anger or fear, unshaken as a pillar, unperturbed as a clear and quiet pool.

I decided to share this photo of cleansing water i created this morning. The ingredients are not going to be shared for personal privacy but this was such a beautiful way to utilize the morning. After a short session of yoga i was compelled to cleanse the house, our bones, our plants and myself.
So i walked to our herb pantry and grabbed all that felt proper, sat on the floor and pinch by pinch added these ingredients mixing 3 times after each addition.

Upon completion i walked and smudged the house in sage/cedar/lavender and followed again with this bowl sprinkling every corner and crevice of our little home…. i came back to my space and alter, dipped a large woodland crystal within the bowl and anointed myself. I closed my eyes and felt all the darkness and energies lift away only to be replaced by a calm light bliss.
